《西域文史》是由北京大学中国古代史研究中心与新疆师范大学西域文史研究中心合出的学术论集，本辑发表与西域相关的学术论文17篇，内容涉及考古、语言、历史、文学、民族、学术史等方面。

1981年9月至1985年7月，就读于南京师范大学中文系，获文学士学位。1994年9月至1997年7月，就读于北京师范大学中文系，获文学硕士学位。1997年9月至2000年7月，就读于北京师范大学中文系，获文学博士学位。2006年8月至2007年8月，英国剑桥大学东方系访问学者。2013年12月至2014年6月，日本京都大学人文科学研究所外国人研究员1985年8月至2010年8月，新疆师范大学中文系/文学院教师，1988、1992、2000、2002年依次晋升助教、讲师、副教授、教授。 2000年7月至2002年7月，北京大学历史系博士后科研流动站工作。 2010年9月至2014年7月，北京大学历史系暨中国古代史研究中心研究员。 2014年8月起，北京大学历史系暨中国古代史研究中心教授。北京师范大学文献学博士，现任北京大学历史学系暨中国古代史研究中心研究员。主要从事清史与清代新疆问题研究、唐代典籍和西域文献整理与研究、中外关系史研究。新疆师范大学“天山学者”特聘教授、新疆师范大学西域文史研究中心学术委员会主任、黄文弼中心主任、吐鲁番学研究院兼职研究员、龟兹研究院兼职研究员，中国李白研究会常务理事、中国唐代文学学会常务理事、中国敦煌吐鲁番学会理事，《西域文史》主编，《唐研究》《西域历史语言研究集刊》《吐鲁番学研究》《新疆师范大学学报》《西域历史语言研究丛书》编委
