本辑《舞蹈学》延续既定的办刊思想，一方面强化舞蹈历史的研究，另一方面追踪国际舞蹈研究前沿。同时也在访谈、舞评和档案部分关注业内现状和热点作品。分为特辑专访、历史回响、师承借鉴、国际瞭望四大专题，2024年是经典芭蕾舞剧《红色娘子军》诞生六十周年，因此，《红色娘子军》成为《舞蹈学 第七辑》的讨论重点。本辑的访谈是借中央芭蕾舞团团长冯英的视角来对《红色娘子军》进行回顾和梳理，受访者包含深情的讲述也让《红色娘子军》中的形象鲜活了起来。

《舞蹈学 第七辑》关注最前沿的舞蹈研究领域动态，兼顾学术性和可读性，并有一定的趣味性。

舞蹈研究所的前身为文化部艺术研究机构下属的音乐舞蹈组，1973年设立。1975年、1978年相继扩建为舞蹈研究组和舞蹈研究室，1980年成立中国艺术研究院时，进一步扩建为现名。舞蹈研究所是国务院学位委员会在艺术学学科批准的第二批硕士点和博士点，并自1982年春和1997年秋，开始在中国艺术研究院研究生院舞蹈学系招收硕士、博士研究生及访问学者，于2009年开启博士后流动站，为内地、香港和台湾地区、新加坡等海内外科研、教学与管理机构培养了大批的高端人才
