《南开21世纪华人文学丛书·美国梦的诱惑和虚幻：华裔美国女作家作品研究》由5个章节组成，以知名华裔美国女作家汤亭亭笔下的《中国佬》（1980）、武慧明的《骨》（1993）和任碧莲的《典型美国人》（1991）三部作品为研究对象，围绕华人工人阶级和知识分子两个阶层的“美国梦”进行研究。
　　《南开21世纪华人文学丛书·美国梦的诱惑和虚幻：华裔美国女作家作品研究》同时涉猎原著的跨文化思想。三位作家超出东西方不同的文化界限，在信奉西方“自由意识”的同时，也对祖籍国文化表示认同。作家们提出不同种族和文化之间应该求同存异，主流文化与边缘文化之间应该互相理解和互相尊重。这种文化思想表达了华裔美国梦的至高境界：实现社会平等和人类解放。

　　张延军，沈阳师范大学教授，硕士研究生导师。主要研究方向为美国少数族裔文学研究和文化研究。1979年毕业于北京外国语学院英语系。1997年获得美国宾州布鲁姆斯堡大学课程教学论硕士学位，2009年获得美国宾州印第安纳大学文学批评博士学位。近10年发表的相关论文有《爱丽丝·沃克<日常用品>中的文化冲突》（2003）、《汤亭亭<女勇士>中多重身份的认同与文化融合》（2008）、《汤亭亭（女勇士>和谭恩美<喜福会>中的中国故事与中国价值观》（2010）、《任碧莲（典型美国人>中的性别政治与女性研究》（2011英文，韩国首尔）、《文化论与结构论的对立与融合》（2011）、《文化研究中的主要异同问题与思考》、《新型华裔美国男性之构建：汤亭亭<中国佬>中的男性身体政治》等。其中后两篇是CSSCI期刊论文。
